In case you couldn’t tell from my thousands of cat pictures, I’m a bit of a cat lady. I am also dog obsessed. So it’s actually like Christmas for me when I get the call to photograph not only a gorgeous little dog, but their kitty friend as well! Macy and Monday are over ten years apart in age, but they still live in harmony with their beautiful family. Macy is her mumma’s pride and joy, and Monday (aka Miss Kitty) is a new addition to the household through Paws and Tails.
Macy has this cheeky little face that you just want to kiss, and she will do literally anything for a Schmacko. She’s absolutely great with the kids, wonderful with Monday, and after about one second her and I were best friends. Monday is the worlds most easy going kitty – she also has possibly the most incredible whiskers I’ve ever seen. Both were so lovely to work with, I left with a huge smile on my face. Thank you Jacqui for having me over to photograph the girls, the prints will look stunning on the wall!
A little preview of my shoot with the gorgeous ten year old Macy – this sweet girl would do anything for a Schmacko!
You really couldn’t ask for a sweeter, goofier, happier dog than Diesel. He is a beautiful Kelpie Cross, rescued by his lovely owner Steff as a puppy. He loves everyone and everything, and I didn’t stop smiling for one second during our shoot! He also has a fantastic range of expressions, from manically happy to sweet and content to his best Bold and the Beautiful pose – Diesel has it all.
Despite the scorching hot Melbourne weather, we still managed to stake out a bit of greenery, I think you would all agree Diesel looks like a huge spunk next to the leaves.Thank you Steff for having me over to photograph your beautiful boy, these photos still bring a huge smile to my face!
One of the things I love about pet photography, is the huge variety of dogs I get to photograph, and I rarely photograph the same breed twice. Melbourne has such a wonderful range of dogs, from the tiniest of Chihuahuas to big goofy Great Danes. Noodle and Baxter the Yorkshire Terriers definitely fell at the tiny end of the spectrum but they are such big personalities – they have no idea that they are so small!
These two pocket rockets were an absolute blast to photograph – they teared around the house as soon as I arrived, wiggled their little tails while they got harnessed, then ran as fast as possible around their local park. Once they had burned off a bit of energy, we came home and they flopped on their mum’s bed – and Baxter did his party trick of hopping into a handbag, apparently he’s done it to many an unsuspecting guest! As I packed up to go, they sprang back up and I managed a few more shots, before they passed out exhausted on the couch. I’m not sure who was more tired, them or me, but we all had an absolute ball and I love the variety of shots we got.
