My mum was visiting from New Zealand this week, and what better way to enjoy a winter’s weekend than in Daylesford – massages, hot springs, and super cosy cottages. We stayed at Lavender Cottage, which I highly recommend. It has all the old world charm you could want, complete with roaring log fire and a fresh picked wild flower bouquet on arrival.

This is my wonderful grandmother, who just celebrated her 91st birthday. She has given and taught me so much all throughout my life, but one of the most precious gifts she has given me is a lifelong empathy and compassion for animals. Her and my grandfather would always take in strays, and some of my earliest memories are of her with her pets. She really is the most amazing lady and very dear to me – I’m proud to call her my grandmother.
