Lazy Sunday with Justin B

Justin B’s favourite day of the week is Sunday, it’s my one sleep in day so we always have a snuggle. It’s also his favourite day because he loves nothing more than helping with the housework – here he is helping me make the bed, his favourite task!

Happy Caturday

Justin B’s method of hunting is not a very effective one – sniff your prey, stare at it cross eyed, then open your mouth and hope for the best. Needless to say, he’s never caught anything bigger than a moth.

Dress ups

A few days late, but Justin B got to try on his new outfit for Halloween – it was a resounding failure. My biggest piece of advice when photographing your pet is make sure they are comfortable – otherwise you end up with a very cranky cat  (albeit with a lot of giggles along the way).

Taronga Zoo Reptile House

I was lucky enough to escape to Sydney for a short break this weekend, unbelievably I’ve never visited in the three and a half years I’ve lived here (despite my brother living there for the last five years). We had a great time at the Royal National Park on Saturday, followed by a trip to Taronga Zoo on Sunday. I took a few pictures at their amazing reptile house – I think snakes and lizards are gorgeous, and look spectacular in black and white! If you’re in the area I definitely recommend a visit – just maybe not on a 35 degree day like we did.

Spring

Springtime in Melbourne is extremely temperamental, but luckily for me this past Sunday was a stunner. I headed to the National Rhododendron Gardens in the Dandenong Ranges – the place was bursting with the most incredible colours, including a Chinese Cedar with the most spectacular pink leaves! Aside from pets, flowers are my favourite thing to photograph and the range of blooms was just so beautiful.
