Marceau and Suzette

Sometimes when I write about a shoot, I find it hard to convey how much it means to me to do what I do. This is one of those times. Beautiful Marceau was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and this shoot was a last minute gift to his owners from a wonderful friend. Sometimes, when a pet is unwell, new people and experiences can be overwhelming, but sweet and beautiful Marceau just purred, posed, and even had a little play for the camera. His cheeky sister Suzette kept an eye on us at all times, and made sure I knew that she was queen of the household.

Marceau went over the Rainbow Bridge not long after the shoot, and I am forever grateful that I got to give his people these shots – thank you from the bottom of my heart.

“By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the RainbowBridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together”

Lazy Sunday with Justin B

Justin B’s favourite day of the week is Sunday, it’s my one sleep in day so we always have a snuggle. It’s also his favourite day because he loves nothing more than helping with the housework – here he is helping me make the bed, his favourite task!

Happy Caturday

Justin B’s method of hunting is not a very effective one – sniff your prey, stare at it cross eyed, then open your mouth and hope for the best. Needless to say, he’s never caught anything bigger than a moth.
