Rupert the Rabbit hops around Melbourne

I love rabbits (especially lop eared ones) and I have photographed them at the RSPCA before – but I’ve never had an actual bunny photoshoot! I was a little nervous going into this, I am not as well versed in rabbit behaviour as I am with dogs and cats, and rabbits really are a whole different ballgame. I had  no need to worry though, with his gorgeous ears, beautiful brindle coat, and gentle nature, Rupert was a natural born model.

Lucinda

This little honey pot is Lucinda, and she is my latest foster kitten. This sweet girl was feral until a month ago, and she is slowly learning that pats and cuddles are a good thing, and that nobody is going to hurt her. She’s taken over my office, but it’s hard to care when she’s this beautiful! Lucinda will eventually be available for adoption through Paws and Tails Rehoming,

So far Justin B is a bit confused and a bit scared of her – I’m hoping love will blossom eventually. If you’d like to follow more of Justin and Lucinda’s adventures, you can join us on Facebook, or on Instagram as @erinandjustinb

Happy New Year!

I’m back after an absolutely blissful three weeks off – the longest holiday I’ve had in two years! My time was split between New Zealand and Melbourne, and once again I was reminded why I love both places so much. New Zealand is just so visually stunning, while Melbourne summer (once it gets going) is so lovely and warm, and very conducive to lying on the beach and lazing about. This holiday also reminded me why it is so important to take regular breaks – I feel more rejuvenated and motivated than I have for a very long time, and I am so excited about the year ahead.

For me, there is nothing better than reconnecting with the world around me – be it the beach, bush, time with family,or just a simple walk in the sun. Below are a few shots from my break, and here’s to a happy, healthy, and productive 2014!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night

Pohutakawa-Tree

The Pohutakawa Tree – these stunning trees are a wonderful symbol of Christmas to all New Zealanders

At midnight last night I arrived in Wellington, after a three hour flight from Melbourne. Both cities I love, and both I am lucky enough to call home. I’ll be spending ten days here, relaxing, reading, and getting as much fresh air as possible, before returning home for a month off. I would like to take this chance to thank everyone who made this year my most busy and productive yet – most importantly a huge thank you to all my beautiful clients who entrusted me with the task of photographing their pets. I cannot tell you how amazing it has been to meet you all, and it fills my heart with joy to do what I do.

I’d also like to thank the great folks at Nature’s Gift Pet Food, the team at Snap n Guides for giving me the opportunity to publish my first eBook, the absolutely amazing people who work in rescue – Melbourne Pet Ambulance, Forever Friends Animal Rescue, and Paws and Tails Rehoming in particular.

A massive thanks to all my wonderful friends and family, who have shown me so much love and support in what has been a year of immense change and growth. You are all very dear to me, and it makes me feel so blessed to have so many people looking out for me.

And last but certainly not least, I’d like to thank my wonderful little man Justin B, who has provided me with snuggles on cold nights, laughter on sad days, and unconditional love 24/7.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year everyone, and I’ll see you all in 2014!
