The Boys

This weekends marks the end of my quiet season. Starting from the first of September I’ll be back into the swing of things, with sessions booked most weekends. Until then I’m enjoying the last of my quiet days with a trip along Great Ocean Road, as well as spending as much time as possible with these two, my gorgeous boys Harry and Justin.

And last but not least, Saturday marks my four year anniversary with my number one guy Jeremy. He is quite simply the best person I know and I’m so lucky to have him

Have an amazing weekend!

Behind the scenes

I thought I’d share these out-takes from my Saffron on the Hill calendar shoot. Granny Giggles had us in fits of laughter as we tried to get the perfect shot. Karen stood behind me with treats while my faithful assistant Jeremy held her little bunny ears up and jumped out of the way just before I took the shot. She was definitely a grumpy girl by the end of it all, but all was forgiven with a Schmacko.

I’m starting to think ahead to Christmas fundraising ideas – I think she’d look quite fetching as a Christmas elf, don’t you?

TREATS??

That’s it, I’m not posing anymore

Our new family member

If you follow me on Facebook you will know about our two foster kittens, Justin B and Mr Moo. These two gorgeous boys had been passed along from foster home to foster home before arriving with us. I pretty much fell in love right immediately, they leapt out of their carrier and made themselves at home straight away. Harry was a little wimp about the situation and spent the first two days hissing and looking concerned, before suddenly realising that the kittens would play with him, and he promptly fell in love.

Initially we thought we’d have to rehome them together as they had been together since they were babies. Over time Justin and Harry started to form a very close bond (a little too close at times, with Harry getting a bit amorous, despite being fixed). Inquiries came in thick and fast for Mr Moo, but none for Justin – apparently tabbies are seen as “plain”. Mr Moo was becoming more independent, and when our friends offered to adopt him we felt like it was a match made in heaven. Mr Moo has a new sister (also called Moo!) and Justin is going to stay with us and his boyfriend Harry. He’s an absolute darling and we are completely in love with him.

A disclaimer – Justin B wasn’t named by us, but we can’t think of a better name for him! Any suggestions are welcome!

Nothing “plain” about this boy

Hope you’re all having a great week – don’t forget to check out my Father’s Day Mini Sessions!

Fathers Day Mini Sessions

Buying for men is tricky, and for some reason it’s even harder for Dads! I tend to panic buy – I actually bought my poor Dad a pair of socks once – from Woolworths. So this year I’ve put together a mini session package that will take the stress out of gift buying for the pet loving man in your life, whether it be for your Dad, Step-Dad, fur baby Dad or just an awesome guy who loves his dog.

The mini session would make an amazing surprise gift – who wouldn’t love to be surprised with gorgeous images of their dog (or cat)? Book before the 27th of August in order to have the photos ready by Father’s Day.

The package costs $160 and includes

  • A one hour mini session
  • An 11×14 print
  • An in-person viewing and ordering session

Numbers are strictly limited, to book a spot  email me today. Please also take the time to read my terms and conditions below

Terms and conditions

  • Session must be paid for at the time of booking
  • Session does not include any digital files, these can be purchased separately
  • Mini sessions are valid for Melbourne and surrounding areas only. Please note that anywhere further than 50k from the CBD will attract an additional travel fee.

Pawfection

Pet photography, to me, is about capturing all aspects of your pet. I love find new ways to show your pet, and during a shoot I’ll often photograph the little details – ears, nose, tails. But my favourite detail shots are nearly always the paws. There’s just something so lovable about a little paw, resting on your leg as if to say “I’m here! It’s all going to be ok”. So today is a round up of paws, scruffy ones, round ones, and funny ones.

Otis might have a career as a paw model

Bentley has the cutest little back legs and paws

Connor’s paws are of the fluffier variety

Paws + tongue = perfection!

Ready for your own pet portrait session? Email me to book for spring. All sessions booked before the end of September receive a $100 print credit
